It was our great fortune to be able to meet and interview a number of former glass factory workers. Their stories and revelations about this wondrous industry are the basis of the educational series described here.
Originally, we interrupted the glass presentations on our Cut Glass Video Club DVDs with information and stories that we felt the collector should know. Most of this information had never been published. After the first ten video club tapes, we looked at what we had in educational information and it totaled over five hours. We divided the topics into four segments and this 7-hour educational series was born:
At least ninety-five percent of the information does not appear in any CG book, but is based upon hours spent with the old cutters and workers in the early 1970’s. Click here for a sample of topics covered.
We have been gratified with the reception these DVDs have received among cut glass collectors, museums and libraries. This set is in most major museums and required viewing in many. To date we have sold over 3000 educational videos. We appreciate your interest and trust you will likewise find them entertaining and informative.

SPECIAL NOTE: During the 1980’s cut glass was made in the rarest of patterns to fool collectors and it was quite well done. Some is appearing again as hundreds of pieces ended up in collections. There are five tests to determine the new from the old and we go over each. Incidentally, the black light test that you see mentioned on eBay, is the least effective of all the tests.
